The Cadets will be led in 2010 by returning drum majors Chris Zentner and Ben Pouncey along with Kate Klontz who served as a conductor in 2009. "I am excited about the leadership team that has been put together for this season and I cannot wait for the year to get underway," said Pouncey. The drum majors will be joined by other leaders who have been selected in the brass, percussion and color guard sections. These corps members have an impressive 35-year total of combined experience with the Cadets.
With their best finish ever in 2009, Carolina Crown has been garnering the attention of a world-wide fan base. This past season Crown had supporters visiting from São Paulo City, Brazil, and after making an incredible impression on the Brazilian delegation, one fan has already earmarked three weeks of vacation for next summer to become the first South American volunteer on Crown's staff.
The Cascades recently announced the staff members who will head the corps' brass, percussion, visual and color guard captions in 2010.
Glassmen alumni, fans, friends and family are invited to attend the organization's Comedy Night this Saturday, Oct. 3 at Pub51 in Northwood, Ohio. The event will feature nationally renowned comedian Johnny Ginger. Tickets are $12 at the door.
The Jersey Surf welcomes Gino Cipriani (director of brass education) and Bob Cizmarik (manager of percussion education) to its team of music educators. In close proximately to all three groups, Cipriani will continue his involvement with the Cadets and the all-age Reading Buccaneers while stepping into his new role with the Surf. Cizmarik returns to the corps' instructional staff where he served as a percussion instructor in 2004. "Gino and Bob are both seasoned professionals who will make an instant, positive and lasting impact on the members of the organization," said Bob Jacobs, executive director.
The Madison Scouts board of directors recently voted unanimously to extend the contract of Executive Director Chris Komnick through 2011. "Since taking the position in January of this year, Chris has done an excellent job in addressing our financial systems and invigorating our fundraising activities," said Jeff Manion, board president.
Revolution will host its annual season-ending banquet on Nov. 27 in San Antonio, Texas. All corps members, staff, family and friends are invited to attend. RSVPs can be made online.
