Blue Devils A team of more than 30 Blue Devils staff and members recently traveled to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to give a series of educational clinics and performances. Boston Crusaders The Boston Crusaders kicked off a new fundraising campaign, "Push the Percussion Program Forward," which is intended to raise funds to cover the cost of a new vehicle to move the corps' front ensemble percussion equipment on and off the field for rehearsals and competitions. The corps is looking to raise $15,000, and donations are tax-deductible.
The Cadets It's not too late to join the 2011 World Champion Cadets. The corps is still in need of mellophone and tuba players to fill out its roster for the 2012 summer season.
The Cavaliers The Cavaliers announced its 2012 roster of percussion staff members led by returning Caption Head Brian Tinkel. "I am especially excited about the instructional staff we have assembled for 2012," Tinkel said. "Members of the team exhibit a breadth of knowledge from posts they've held in the activity and beyond."
City Sound City Sound's auditions are coming up on Jan. 7 and 8 in Lynwood, Calif. Openings are available in the brass, color guard and percussion sections.
Crossmen The Crossmen will be helping feed the U.S. Army All-American Marching Band when the elite high school group travels to San Antonio, Texas, Jan. 3-6 to prepare for its performance at the All-American Bowl at the Alamodome. The corps is in need of volunteers to help with the food service that will feed nine meals to about 170 members and staff.
Genesis Genesis named two of its three conductors for the 2012 season. Fred Barrera will move from the trumpet section to the front conducting podium, while Jocelyn Flores will come in for her first season with the corps as assistant conductor.
Gold Pete Sapadin joins Gold's 2012 percussion staff. "As Gold builds on our tradition of excellence in percussion, Pete is a perfect fit for where we want to go," Director Dr. Don Flaherty said.
Mandarins The Mandarins announced their 2012 brass staff members who will be led by Caption Manager Dennis Aquilina.
Oregon Crusaders Oregon Crusaders report completing another "record-setting audition camp season" with its highest turnout ever at its November and December audition camps.
