The Academy



Academy members will once again take their act inside for the third annual CenterStage event, coming to the Tempe (Ariz.) Center for the Arts on June 11 and 12. Special guest artist at this year's show will be Will Calhoun. He is a Grammy-winning drummer, recipient of the Buddy Rich Jazz Masters Award for outstanding performance by a drummer, and a member of the band Living Colour. Boston Crusaders



The annual Crusader Classic Golf Tournament is taking place this Saturday, May 15, in Bradenton, Fla. at the Preserve Golf Club. All skill levels are welcome. The day will kick off on the links with a 12:30 shotgun start before wrapping up with the Crusaders' May Preview performance at Lakewood Ranch High School.

The Cadets



Arthur J. Mura has been selected by the Cadets Hall of Fame Legacy Committee to be inducted as part of the 2010 class of the Cadets Hall of Fame. Following in his family's footsteps to the Cadets, Mura spent 12 years with the corps beginning in 1937. His brother Albert was inducted into the Cadets Hall of Fame in 2009.

Carolina Crown



Carolina Crown's 2010 production will be titled "A Second Chance," featuring the second symphonies of Gustav Mahler and Aram Khachaturian as well as works by Arturo Marquez and Edward Elgar. Posted on the corps' website: "Conceptual motifs, a richly coordinated palette, and a touch of nostalgic detail will further illustrate this romantic, yet existential, theme."

Cascades



The Cascades played on a new set of brass instruments during their May rehearsal camp at West Valley High School in Yakima, Wash., and the corps reports that "the new instruments are truly beautiful." Taking place over Mother's Day weekend, 13 volunteer moms were on hand at the camp sewing uniforms and flags.

The Cavaliers



The Cavaliers will host their Summer Drum Days educational camp July 9-11 at North Central College in Naperville, Ill. The camp is open to novice, intermediate or advanced percussionists 13 years or older, and will include a special exhibition by the 2010 Cavaliers percussion section.

Mandarins



Check out the Mandarins in concert at the Pacific Rim Street Fest in Old Sacramento, Sunday, May 23. Corps members will perform selections from their 2010 production "To Dream of Far Away Lands."

Pacific Crest



Pacific Crest's first public performance of the year will take place on Saturday, June 12 at Irvine, Calif. High School. Tickets to the event are $15 which includes dinner.

Phantom Regiment



Twenty-four year old Phantom Regiment alum Michael Martin has accepted a full-time trumpet position with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Boston Pops. Regiment.org features a question and answer interview with Michael who is the son of DCI Hall of Fame member Freddy Martin.

Vanguard's fourth TEAM SCV meeting of the year will take place at the Vanguard Hall in Santa Clara, Calif., this Saturday, May 15. All are invited to hear the latest updates from the organization about the upcoming summer season.

Spirit will host its 10th annual pre-season picnic on Sunday, May 30 in Tallulah Falls, Ga. Free and open to the public, attendees will be able to gather with fellow fans and supporters as the corps gets set to kick of its 2010 summer tour.
