
Blue Devils
The Blue Devils recently announced the concept of their 2008 program titled “Constantly Risking Absurdity.” Music selections will include pieces from Stephen Sondheim, John Adams, Danny Elfman, Michel Legrand, Ennio Morricone, and more.

Boston Crusaders
The Boston Crusaders announced the title of their 2008 program, “NEOCOSMOS.” The show will feature the music of Richard Strauss, John Mackey, Van Morrison, Mark Mancina, Don Davis and Ben Watkins.

Citations
The Citations recapped their April rehearsal camp for fans with a photo gallery posted on the corps’ Web site.

Colts
Colts executive director Greg Orwoll will present an educational session titled “Marching Band for Dummies – What the Judges Look For” on May 9 at the annual Iowa Bandmasters Association Convention in Des Moines. This will be eighth session Orwoll has presented at the IBA Convention in the last 20 years.

Crossmen
The Crossmen have appointed two veteran corps members to serve as drum majors for the 2008 season. Kyle Bourdon (Crossmen 2003-2008) and Meghan Huber (Jersey Surf 2002-2005, Crossmen 2006-2008) have a combined 11 years of drum corps experience.

Dutch Boy
Dutch Boy is encouraging its friends, family and alums to help raise awareness and funds in support of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). On June 1, the corps will perform as part of the TELUS Walk to Cure Diabetes in Canada, an event that the JDRF refers to as its “most powerful fundraising engine attracting more than 45,000 Canadians every year.”

Glassmen
On Saturday, April 12 a group of brass players from the Glassmen joined the Toledo Symphony Orchestra for a special joint performance of the finale of Respighi’s “Pines of Rome” during the orchestra’s 65th anniversary concert.

Jersey Surf
The Jersey Surf held its final winter rehearsal camp April 25-27. Corps members spent time working through the first two minutes of the group’s 2008 program, “The Jersey Surf: So Far.” A highlight of the weekend including a visit from DCI Executive Director Dan Acheson who met with corps members, staff members and the organization’s team of volunteers.
