The Academy The first meeting of the Academy's Summer Youth Guard program will be on Sunday, May 20, at Aprende Middle School in Chandler, Ariz. The introductory program for students 5-14 years of age teaches the fundamentals of color guard equipment and movement.
Blue Devils Dr. Tim Lautzenheiser and DCI Hall of Fame member Shirley Dorritie will present leadership sessions at the Blue Devils' System Blue SoCal Leadership Camp taking place June 28-30 at Murrieta Mesa High School in Murrieta, Calif.
Blue Devils B Blue Devils B will use the music of John Mackey, Steven Bryant and its staff composers when it brings its 2012 production "Ecstatic Waters" to stadiums across America. The corps wrote about the program: "From quiet streams to roaring rivers, with calm collecting pools and bubbling springs, water's diverse path is one of nature's most dynamic forces; with the power to carve canyons from solid rock, and the ability to provide life all along it's path, water lends it's versatility to Blue Devils B in 2012!"

The Cavaliers The Cavaliers posted a report about the corps' April rehearsal camp which took place April 27-29 in Rosemont, Ill. With the color guard rejoining the full corps for the first time since the fall, Caption Head Sheldon Apo said: "We jumped right into intense training, technique, and audition sessions as the staff looked to solidify this year's membership. After such a productive and inspiring weekend, we're all looking forward to starting something truly special as we move in for [spring training]."
Crossmen The Crossmen announced a new strategic partnership with Pilot Flying J Travel Centers. ""Pilot and Flying J are two of the best recognized landmarks that we see night in and night out while we are making our way across the country each summer," Crossmen Executive Director Fred Morrison said. "We are pleased to announce Pilot's addition to the Crossmen team of corporate supporters."
Forte Forte announced the creation of Forte Winter Guard and Forte Indoor, a winter color guard and percussion ensemble that will both begin competing in 2013.
Legends Legends has select opportunities still available for brass, percussion and color guard members who would like to perform with the corps during its 2012 summer season. The group will next rehearse May 25-27.
Madison Scouts Madison Scouts color guard alum Chuck Henson will be the public address announcer at the Drums On Parade DCI Tour event on June 22 in Middleton, Wis. Henson, who serves as a traffic reporter for Bay News 9 in Tampa, Fla., may be best known to marching musicians as the "voice" of the Bands of America Grand National Championships which he has handled PA duties at for 24 years.
