Boston Crusaders Brass arranger and composer Ryan George is among the newest appointments to Boston Crusaders' 2012 design staff. "The Boston Crusaders is a corps that I have always held in the highest regard," said George. "To be a part of a corps with such a rich heritage is both an honor and a thrill!"

The Cavaliers The Cavaliers' educational branch GearWORKS will present several "Chop Sessions" in September and October. Intended as "intensive prep sessions geared toward students looking to continue developing their individual skills throughout the fall, in preparation for drum corps and winter drum line auditions," events will take place at Lyons Township High School in La Grange, Ill.

Crossmen Crossmen announced its design staff for 2012. Leading the show designers this season will be Ed Devlin who will serve as program coordinator in addition to his role as visual designer. Devlin takes over for Jaime Alvarez-Calderon who has been with the Crossmen for the last five seasons in various capacities.

Mandarins Mandarins' first audition camp of the 2012 season will take place Dec. 10-11 in the Sacramento area. Complete details will be announced in the near future, and in the meantime you can express your interest by filling out the online signup form.

Pacific Crest Pacific Crest will host an "Experience Camp" Dec. 10 and 11, followed the next week by an audition camp on Dec. 17 and 18 at Diamond Bar High School in Diamond Bar, Calif.

Phantom Regiment Phantom Regiment hired Christian Carichner as its new brass caption head. "For years, Phantom has been a dominant voice in the brass world of DCI, and I hope to enhance the already long-standing traditions of fire, passion, sensitivity and excellence in brass," Carichner said.

Santa Clara Vanguard Former Phantom Regiment arranger J.D. Shaw will join Santa Clara Vanguard in 2012 as brass arranger and composer. "Working with an organization that has such strong roots of blending tradition with innovation will be an exhilarating venture, and I am honored to have been chosen," Shaw said.

Santa Clara Vanguard Cadets Robert Nieves has stepped down as director of the Vanguard Cadets, a position he has held since 2010. Steve Barnhill, assistant director and brass caption manager, will serve as interim director until the position is filled.
