The Bluecoats are now accepting registrations for THE BLUE WAY Interactive Educational Experience, “a hands-on weekend clinic for brass, tenor, snare, and guard students held June 12-13 on the beautiful campus of Denison University in Granville, Ohio.”

Fifteen individuals have been chosen for consideration for induction into the Cadets Hall of Fame in 2010. Online voting by registered members of the Cadets Alumni Association through June 1 will narrow down the field of 15, and the newest members of the Hall will be announced on June 18 in Allentown, Pa.

The CrownLEARNING series will give music educators and students the opportunity to learn side-by-side with Carolina Crown’s staff and members during the 2010 summer season. The corps’ Web site has a complete list of educational events scheduled from early June to late July.

Ever wonder how many different locations a drum corps draws its members from? The Colts have assembled a map on Google that pinpoints the hometown of every one of the corps’ 2010 performers.

Incognito will be hosting a free educational clinic on May 1 at Bolsa Grande High School in Garden Grove, Calif. Students are asked to bring their own color guard equipment and instruments, and to wear comfortable clothes.

Jersey Surf is honoring the memory of longtime brass staff member Gabe Gulino, who passed away this week after a long illness. “Gabe was the kind of instructor whose wisdom and experience transcended the competition field,” said Executive Director Bob Jacobs. “He was a father, a friend and a mentor to many corps members and staff members alike, and he was a shining example of the ‘share the love’ philosophy that we all try to embrace as a part of the Jersey Surf organization.”

The third edition of “Pipeline,” a Pacific Crest Web feature that looks inside the creative process of the corps’ 2010 production, offers an interview with corps percussion caption supervisor and arranger Matt Altmire.

Phantom Regiment

Phantom Regiment

Phantom Regiment will host its eighth annual fall marching band festival in DeKalb, Ill., in partnership with the Northern Illinois University Huskie Marching Band. Band directors who register their groups for participation in the Sept. 25 contest by July 12, will receive VIP passes and 10 free tickets to the corps’ 2010 DCI Tour event on July 18 in Rockford.

Santa Clara Vanguard

Santa Clara Vanguard

 The Vanguard Cadets will be offering a weekly series of percussion workshops every Wednesday beginning April 21 in Santa Clara, Calif. Each $10 session gives students two-and-a-half hours of instruction. All levels of marching percussion experience are welcome.
