The Academy The Academy thanks the City of Maricopa, Ariz. and the Maricopa Unified School District for its generous contributions toward food and housing for eight days. The corps held a community performance and open rehearsal yesterday, July 1, to help give back to school music programs.

Bluecoats The Bluecoats are hosting two events next Friday, July 9: the Artistry IN BLUE color guard clinic and the Innovations in Brass show. Artistry IN BLUE, the Bluecoats' winter color guard ensemble, will offer classes on dance, flag and rifle for all ages starting at 12 p.m. The $20 fee also includes a ticket to the Innovations in Brass event at InfoCision Stadium in Akron, OH, starting 7 p.m.

Boston Crusaders Tickets to the East Coast Classic DCI Tour event on Aug. 6 are currently available on the Boston Crusaders' website. The show includes the Cadets, Bluecoats, Pacific Crest, Mandarins, Teal Sound, and Boston Crusaders competing at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Lawrence, Mass. The Crusaders Senior will also perform in exhibition.

The Cadets John Ogle, Cadets alumnus and National Public Radio correspondent, recently completed a detailed news story on the Cadets while they stayed in Chesapeake, Va. The radio broadcast interviews Brass Caption Supervisor Gino Cipriani and Assistant Director Justin Heimbecker.

Cascades According to the Cascades' "Tour Talk," the corps held a successful educational clinic and auction fundraiser Saturday, June 26 at Husky Stadium in Seattle, Wash. The evening included silent and live auctions, dinner, and performances by the Cascades and the Portage Bay Big Band. The auction was reported to be a big success for the organization with a record attendance of more than 200.

The Cavaliers The Cavaliers are sponsoring this year's Pageant of Drums in Michigan City, Ind. on Saturday, July 3. The event follows the 55th Annual Michigan City Summer Festival Parade at 11 a.m. CT. That evening at 7 p.m., 11 corps from the World, Open Class and All-Age divisions will perform in the 50th annual Pageant of Drums at Ames Field.

City Sound City Sound performs in its first show of 2010 Saturday, July 3 in Walnut, Calif. The corps was founded in 1997, but performed at local events until this year when the corps was approved to compete as an Open Class corps in DCI's Southern California events.

Colts The Colts reported on June 28 that they received a city grant as part of a competitive program available to local nonprofit organizations. Funding for the arts is part of the Dubuque, Iowa strategic plan, and the grant funds became available to the corps July 1.

Forte On Saturday, July 3, Forte will host the first of two fundraisers to help support the corps: the Forte Margarita Pour in Grand Prairie (DFW), Texas. Activities include a 50/50 raffle drawing, music, food, contests for Best Margarita Glass, Best Use of Purple (the corps' color), and more. Tickets cost $15 or $20 for couples, and the event is limited to those 21 and older.

Pacific Crest Where in the world is Pacific Crest? Activities from the month of July have been posted: This weekend the corps performs in four Southern California shows, followed by rehearsals in the Azusa, Calif. area. The official summer tour for the corps starts July 17.

Phantom Regiment Before the corps competes at the Rockford, Ill. Show of Shows event July 18, Regiment friends and supporters are having the SOS Kickoff Party at Players Pizza Pub near the Boylan High School stadium. $5 admission at the door goes to support the corps.
