Blue Knights Brad Toth has been appointed to lead the Blue Knights' brass caption in 2012. "Congratulations to the corps and the horn line on a tremendous push over the last several years," said Andy Smart who will step down as brass caption head to focus on family commitments. "I wish for nothing but to see this growth continue, and Brad Toth will certainly keep the brass program moving forward!"
Blue Stars Blue Stars posted a new recruitment video. Auditions for the corps will take place Nov. 18 to 20 in Indianapolis.
Bluecoats Join the Bluecoats during their first annual Bingo Bop fundraiser. The event will take place at the corps' Champion Event Center on Saturday, Oct. 15 in Canton, Ohio.
The Cadets A small ensemble of Cadets members performed for President Barack Obama and other dignitaries at the United Nations on Wednesday, Nov. 21.
Carolina Crown Carolina Crown recently announced its visual instructional staff members for 2012. Heading the caption will be Ron Hardin who will serve as visual supervisor. "Having someone of Ron's vast experience and knowledge of the technical details needed to bring our designs to life absolutely fits with our goals of enhancing the visual performance quality over the most recent years," said Executive Director Jim Coates.
The Cavaliers Cavaliers drill writer Michael Gaines will step down from his position after 25 years as a member, instructor and designer. "Of course this has been a difficult decision, but I've made sure that the corps is in an incredibly strong place before taking this personal break from the drum corps activity," said Gaines. Coming in to take over the corps' visual package will be drill designer Richard Hinshaw and artistic director Tommy Allen.
Colts Colts' first audition camp of the new season will take place Nov. 25-27 in Dubuque, Iowa. The corps also posted a complete schedule of its winter rehearsal camps.
Crossmen Crossmen staff member Clark Gardner will expand his role with the corps in 2012 as percussion caption head. "Clark's philosophy includes his desire to help everyone on his team become the most effective teachers that they can be while paying attention to every detail in order to elevate the Crossmen percussion section to their highest potential," said percussion adviser and consultant Rudy Gowern.
Genesis Genesis has made a number of recent staff announcements. Among them, Ed Gobbel will serve as the corps' director of education and brass designer.
Jersey Surf Jersey Surf posted a rather interesting list of performers it's searching for its 2012 "Bridgemania" production. Along with the usual brass, percussion and color guard members, it's on the lookout for club mix DJs, poodle wranglers and celebrity look-alikes, among many others.

Santa Clara Vanguard Cadets Steve Barnhill, brass caption manager of the Vanguard Cadets, has been promoted to director of the corps. "Steve has played a critical role in the Vanguard Cadets' success since he joined the SCVC staff in 2007 and will provide the leadership and experience necessary to continue the program's growth," said Santa Clara Vanguard CEO Jeff Fiedler.

Spirit of Atlanta Dr. Todd Snead has been promoted to Executive Director of Spirit of Atlanta. Snead served as corps director in 2011 and on its brass staff in 2009 and 2010.
