Boston Crusaders
Susan Bulger, a Boston Crusaders color guard captain in the late 1970s, passed away last week after a battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held Thursday, Sept. 24 in St. Rockland, Mass.

The Cadets
Earlier this month more than 60 alums gathered at the Church of the Most Holy Name in Garfield, N.J. as Cadets director George Hopkins and assistant director Justin Heimbecker recapped the organization's 75th anniversary season and looked ahead to 2010.

On Sept. 12, the Cavaliers awarded more than $24,000 in prizes during the corps' annual raffle drawing.

Legends
In the works since 2007, Legends will debut a new color guard ensemble this winter. "I am pleased that the Kalamazoo, Mich. area is excited to see this program offered and supported by its area band directors," said Legends executive Director Ibe Sodawalla.

Madison Scouts
Continuing with a flurry of new staff appointments over the last month, the Madison Scouts have announced that Rosie Queen (Miller) will serve in 2010 as color guard caption supervisor, Bryan Sutton as color guard caption head and Charlie Gumbert as color guard consultant.

Mandarins
The Mandarins' 2010 music design team will include Dan Fong (brass arrangements), Wayne Downey (music consultant) and Tony Nunez (battery and front ensemble percussion arranger). "We are glad to have Dr. Dan back on board to do the brass arrangements this year. Last year's program was a huge success with audiences across the country," said program coordinator Greg Mar.

Phantom Regiment
Phantom Regiment will host its 7th annual fall marching band festival on Saturday, Sept. 26 in Machesney Park, Ill. The competitive event will feature local Illinois marching bands.

Pioneer
Auditions for Pioneer's winter drum line ensemble will take place on Nov. 7 in Romeoville, Ill.
Pioneer Indoor was the Winter Guard International Percussion Independent A Class Champions in 2007 and 2008.

Revolution
Revolution's winter color guard ensemble recently hosted a successful audition camp as the group looks to jump divisions from the Independent Open to the Independent World Class. Santa Clara Vanguard
Staff and members of the 2009 Winter Guard International Championship-winning Vanguard color guard ensemble will offer a one-day educational session on Sunday, Oct. 11 in San Jose, Calif. The event will be geared toward students who have had at least one season experience with a fall, winter or summer color guard ensemble.
