The Academy announced its roster of 2011 color guard staff members. The group will be led by new designer and caption head Chris Velez.

Blue Devils
A new series of King System Blue Marching Brass instruments have been designed and tested in partnership with the Blue Devils. “Utilizing innovative designs with unique and distinctive styling, King System Blue is marching brass, evolved.”

Boston Crusaders
The Boston Crusaders are on the lookout for volunteers to help staff a concession stand fundraiser at Gillette Stadium during this Sunday’s Patriots game against the Jets.

The Cadets
The Holy Name Alumni chapter in North Jersey will have a special visit from Cadets directors George Hopkins and Justin Heimbecker during its meeting on Feb. 8 in Garfield, N.J.

Carolina Crown
A selection from Carolina Crown’s “The Grass is Always Greener” can be found on the website of singer-songwriter Elvis Costello. The corps played Costello’s “Puck 1” in its 2009 production.

The Cavaliers
The Cavaliers announced new and returning members of its brass instructional staff who will be led by brass caption head Scott-Lee Atchison. “With some key additions to the team, we look to continue building on the Cavaliers’ brass program, as well as the entire corps’ success,” he said.

Colts
The Colts have added one-day auditions in Kyle, Texas (Jan. 29) and Kansas City, Mo. (Feb. 5) to their schedule.

Genesis
Genesis is looking for a media intern skilled in photography and video to join the corps on tour this summer from June through August.

Gold
Peter Gomez joins the Gold design staff as color guard caption head. “Peter is no stranger to drum corps. His marching experience with the Blue Devils and Santa Clara Vanguard partnered with his instructional experience with Bluecoats, Pacific Crest, and the Academy is exactly what Gold needed to take us to the next level,” said Executive Director Don Flaherty.

Pacific Crest
Pacific Crest’s 10-week Dance Theater program, designed for color guard performers seeking advanced training in dance and flag and weapons technique, kicks off this weekend in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.

Pioneer
While getting ready for a rehearsal camp the last weekend of January, Pioneer takes time to recap the corps’ accomplishments in December.

Racine Scouts
The Racine Scouts’ 2011 production “Resurrection,” will feature music by John Rutter, Verdi, Schubert and DCI Hall of Fame member Robert W. Smith.

Santa Clara Vanguard
Santa Clara Vanguard’s recently released Tour DVD features the 2010 performances of SCV, the Vanguard Cadets, the Vanguard Winter Guard and the Vanguard Cadets Winter Percussion. It also features a bonus Blu-ray disc with SCV’s 2010 Finals performance in high definition.

Spirit of Atlanta
Despite snowy weather that has pounded the southern United States this week, Spirit’s rehearsal camp scheduled for this weekend in Atlanta is still on as originally planned.

Troopers
The Troopers have announced their 2011 production, “The Road Home.” Limited quantities of a special show poster are now available from the corps’ online store.
