Even though some northeastern Crossmen members battled winter storms while trying to get to the corps' fourth rehearsal camp of the 2008 season last weekend, sunny 70 degree weather greeted those who made it in to Ronald Reagan High School in San Antonio, Texas. Nearly 115 brass and percussionists spent a majority of the time rehearsing outdoors as the corps members worked on fundamentals and music to their 2008 production "Planet X." Those heading up to central Wisconsin for the Madison Scouts' rehearsal camps this season have battled wintry storms as the city of Madison set a new all-time record for snowfall. During the corps' most recent February rehearsal, however, fair weather prevailed allowing for all corps members to arrive safely by Saturday afternoon. Corps members worked throughout the weekend on fundamentals and music, and a highlight included the introduction of Madison Scouts Program Coordinator Ramiro Barrera who provided his insight into the process and development of the corps' 2008 program. Blue Stars members began to check into the Indiana State Fairground in Indianapolis on Feb. 15 for the corps' fourth rehearsal camp of the season. Reported on the corps' Web site, the members were charged with energy for another weekend of preparation for their 2008 competitive program. Even though a fast moving storm from the Northwest caused the early departure of about 20 members to allow for safe travel home, the group still met all goals and objectives outlined for the weekend rehearsals.
