Steve Rondinaro
Longtime Drum Corps International broadcaster, Steve Rondinaro, recently traded the North Carolina mountains for the coastline. Formerly of Mountain Television in Boone, N.C., owned by his company Rondinaro Broadcasting, Inc., Rondinaro now is the main anchor and managing editor at WWAY-TV, the ABC station in Wilmington, N.C. While still owning Mountain Television, Rondinaro says he has a good staff in place to carry on until a pending purchase offer can be consummated.    "The beauty of this new job from a drum corps point of view is that the station is very supportive of my freelance work, especially our Drum Corps International projects," said Rondinaro. "I wasn't about to let anything interfere with that after 28 years." Following that passion for drum corps, Rondinaro also will carry on as the volunteer stadium announcer for Carolina Crown's annual Summer Music Games Tour event, "Nightbeat," in Charlotte this summer. Drum corps fans can catch Rondinaro hosting this Thursday's DCI Classic Countdown which will be shown in select theaters across the United States. View more information on the Classic Countdown.
