In the shadow of the fabled spires of Churchill Downs, Papa John's Cardinal Stadium is the perfect place to experience the thoroughbreds of the drum corps universe. Its ample parking and excellent site lines help make it one of the top places on the Summer Music Games Tour to watch a show. DCI Louisville kicks off at 7:30 p.m. DCI Louisville tickets are $18 and go on sale on Thursday, Nov. 3 at 9 a.m. Central time. School and fraternal groups of 25 or more can also purchase tickets at that time for $15. DCI Father's Day Kickoff After a spectacular inaugural event in 2005, drum corps returns to the Sports Complex at Benedictine University in Lisle, Ill., for the DCI Father's Day Kickoff on Sunday, June 18 at 6 p.m. Located less than 30 miles from downtown Chicago, the Sports Complex at Benedictine University is easily accessible from anywhere in the Chicagoland area as well as Eastern Iowa and Southern Wisconsin. Priced at $18 and $25, this is a great way to wrap up Dad's special day and give him a night on the town. For really large families, schools, fraternal organizations and other groups of 25 or more, group tickets may also be purchase at that time for $15. Since this early season stop on the 2006 Summer Music Games Tour was a near sellout last year, fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets early to get access to the best seats. DCI Central Illinois ISU Hancock Stadium on the campus of Illinois State University in Bloomington-Normal, will be rocking with the sound of horns, drums and thousands of excited Bands of America campers when DCI Central Illinois returns on Friday, June 30, 2006. The event kicks off at 7 p.m. Always a favorite stop for the corps, this seven-year-old event is produced in conjunction with the Bands of America Summer Symposium, one of the top marching band leadership camps. "The campers are great!" said DCI executive director Dan Acheson. "Their enthusiasm and appreciation for the corps makes this one of the more dynamic events of the summer's tour." Centrally located between Chicago, St. Louis, the Quad Cities and Indianapolis, DCI Central Illinois' Friday night start time makes it a great way to kick off an early summer weekend getaway.
