This year’s ESPN2 parties would just not complete without heavy doses of Maynard Ferguson recordings such as “Birdland,” “MacArthur Park,” “Chameleon,” and my all-time favorite “La Fiesta.”
Maynard was a drum corps favorite among participants and fans back in the 1970s when I marched, and not surprisingly, among my son’s corps nearly three decades later.
You will be missed Maynard, but your music will live within us forever!
