The excitement of the very best in marching music was not forgotten following the 2009 DCI World Championships this past August, and this week, Indianapolis will once again transform into a metropolis of music, marching and education. From Nov. 11 – 14, the Circle City's downtown will light up with marching arts enthusiasts who will be in town for the Percussive Arts Society International Conference (PASIC) and the Bands of America Grand National Championships. Drum Corps International will be there every step of the way along with many of DCI's member organizations and corps members, staff and directors. Here's a look at many of the exciting events scheduled for this week in Indy.

Lucas Oil Stadium
Drum Corps International Board of Directors Meeting Where: DCI Headquarters, 110 W. Washington St., Suite C When: 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. Highlights: During the fall and winter months, planning never stops for next year's DCI Tour. Members of DCI's board of directors will meet at the DCI corporate office suite over two days to continue preparations for the summer of 2010. Indiana Public Schools (IPS) Marching Band Tournament Where: Lucas Oil Stadium, 500 S. Capitol Ave. When: 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Highlights: IPS marching bands will perform at Lucas Oil Stadium to kickoff Bands of America's week-long series of Grand Nationals events. Drum Corps International will give special recognition to the IPS schools that provided housing for corps during the DCI World Championships this past August as part of the event. MusicForAll.org

Capitol Ave. When: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Highlights: Visit the DCI booth on the PASIC expo floor. • Members of the Phantom Regiment front ensemble will be featured during an educational clinic at 1 p.m. Under the instruction of Sandi Rennick, the session titled "Addressing the Expanding Demands of the Present Day Front Ensemble," will showcase the world-class talent of current Phantom Regiment corps members. • World-renowned percussionist and former member of the Bridgemen Drum & Bugle Corps, Tommy Igoe, will perform with his Birdland Big Band during an evening concert at 8 p.m. Igoe has recorded and toured with artists including Art Garfunkel, Lauryn Hill, and Blood, Sweat and Tears. He also composed the drum parts for the Broadway adaptation of "The Lion King." PASIC.org
