The U.S. Department of Defense recently posted a YouTube video featuring Sgt. Chris Flores, a baritone bugler with "The Commandant's Own," The United States Marine Drum and Bugle Corps. Sgt. Flores was a member of Phantom Regiment in 2007 before joining the Marine ensemble in 2011. This August the Marine Drum and Bugle Corps made its return to perform at the DCI World Championship Finals for the first time since 2011. One of the premier musical ensembles of the U.S. Armed Forces, The Commandant's Own attracts a number of its enlisted members from Drum Corps International organizations. "A lot of the pool of Marines that we get coming into The Commandant's Own come from this [Drum Corps International] stage," Flores said. "[Many of the] young men and women that will be performing out there tonight, I can guarantee will be wearing the same uniform I wore today in a year or two from now."
