Can't make it to Providence for the 2005 World Championships? Not coming until later in the week? Don't worry! By attending DCI Cinema Live, a telecast of DCI quarterfinals to theaters around the country, you won't miss a minute of the action! On the heels of the great success of both the DCI Classic Countdown and last summer's DCI Cinema Live telecast, DCI is returning to the big screen on Aug. 11 with a telecast of Division I quarterfinals! If you can't make it to Foxboro for finals, this is absolutely the next best thing. Imagine taking in the power, precision and pageantry of drum corps while enjoying popcorn and Skittles in the friendly confines of your local theater! This is your chance for perfect weather, perfect sight lines and padded comfort! Drum corps broadcast veteran Steve Rondinaro is also anticipating the event. "I'm delighted at how the live cinecast thing is growing. Remember, when I started hosting the Championships back in '79 it was five hours-plus live on PBS. Broadcasting drum corps live again is great fun. Last year was great. It must be something experiencing it in the theater (at least I hope it is), but I wouldn't give up my seat or my job for anything. Besides, August 11 is my birthday and where better to spend it with a few thousand of my closest friends?" Rondinaro said. Stay tuned to DCI.org for further details.
