Journalist Colt Foutz is profiled by the Joliet (Ill.) Herald News for authoring the recently published "Building the Green Machine, Don Warren and Sixty Years with the World Champion Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps." Foutz, who is a Chicago-area journalist, has had essays appear on Chicago Public Radio and in "Chicago Parent" magazine, among other accomplishments. "Building the Green Machine" is his first book.

The Tony Award winning production of "Blast!" will be heading out on a new tour starting at the end of December. Evolving from the former DCI member corps Star of Indiana, "Blast!" consists of a 35-member cast of brass players, percussionists and a visual color guard element. The Charleston, S.C. NBC affiliate reported on Blast! coming to the North Charleston Performing Arts Center on Dec. 28.

Sudbury, Ontario's Northern Life reported on Sudbury residents who were recently awarded Mayor and Council Civic Awards for Volunteerism. Among the recipients was Sheila Ripley of the Blue Saints. Ripley has been involved with the corps since 1989.
