Fans will get their chance to "make the call" when they judge some of their favorite corps performances as part of Drum Corps International's 2008 spring cinema event, "The Countdown." This exclusive one-night-only event will take place at select movie theaters across the country on Thursday, April 24.

Presented for the fourth consecutive year by National CineMedia's Fathom Events and Drum Corps International, "The Countdown" will feature six full-length corps performances from among the best World Championship finalists of the past three years, including:

2007 Blue Devils

2007 Bluecoats

2005 The Cadets

2006 Phantom Regiment

2006 The Cavaliers

2007 Carolina Crown

In addition to enjoying these six performances, part of the fun of this year's "Countdown" will be the opportunity for fans to download and bring along with them a score sheet to keep track of their own ratings and rankings of the performances shown up on the big screen.

"I'm pretty stoked to judge the corps at the movies," said drum corps fan Jimmy Goldstein of Lititz, Pa. "I've always looked on at the DCI judges during the World Championships and wanted to have the chance to rate and rank each performance. I think I may even throw on a green polo shirt and bring a clipboard to really play the part at this event!"

Following the in-theater event on April 24, fans will be asked to return to the DCI.org Web site to enter the scores they've recorded on their printed sheets. Online scoring will end at noon Eastern on Saturday, April 26. Scores will then be tabulated and caption award winners and the 2008 "Countdown Champion" announced in a special DCI.org Webcast that weekend.

Don't miss your opportunity to join in the fun! The Countdown will be shown in more than 300 movie theaters across the country on Thursday, April 24 at 7:30 p.m. local time. Tickets cost only $10 and are now on sale through FathomEvents.com.
