From an East Coast Jazz press release: The idiom of jazz has several distinct regional flavors. Here in the East, the music often contains elements of the artist's ethnic heritage. One of the most famous performers & composers of the East Coast Jazz style of music is Massachusetts native Armando "Chick" Corea. The music of Chick Corea allows the corps to portray the Spanish idiom with passion, drama and even fun. Drawing from two of Corea's most famous works, "Celebration Suite" and "My Spanish Heart," the program will again feature the wonderful skills of the East Coast Jazz front ensemble. With an expanded brass section and veteran battery, the corps music presentation will be both sophisticated and entertaining. The visual representation, highlighted by the talented color guard, will draw on the works of acclaimed Spanish artists like Pablo Picasso and Joan Miro for inspiration.

The four sections of the show (subject to change) will be "Celebration Suite intro," "Armando's Rhumba," "My Spanish Heart" and "Spanish Fantasy Parts I & IV."

The design team is still putting the finishing touches on what we feel will be a show that is exciting and successful. Stay tuned for further details.
