Julia Ansley, a 19-year-old University of Kansas psychology student who plays mellophone with the Colts, sent in this one.^ “2003 was my first year marching in a drum corps and I was ecstatic to know I would be marching with the Colts. However, at one of the first camps, I met this girl named Katie Peaks and I was upset because I did not like her at all. I was extremely annoyed that I would have to spend my summer with her. We hated one another. However, things turned out nicely because over the summer we became the best of friends! I guess that’s just something drum corps does to you!
