Members of the Drum Corps International Event Operations Team met at the organization's Indianapolis headquarters today for their annual pre-season planning meeting in prepartion for the 2010 DCI Summer Tour.



"This is definitely the 'calm before the storm' for our team before the summer season gets underway," said Susan Kuehnhold, Drum Corps International Director of Events. "We're going over a variety of topics today encompassing all matters of logistics specifically for our schedule of DCI Premier Events. We're reviewing everything from the way the fans enter the stadium, to the locations of first aid and water stations, figuring out where the judges will be located in each stadium facility, and corps entry and exit procedures."



The 2010 Drum Corps International tour will kick off on Friday, June 18, running nearly 60 days and culminating with the the DCI World Championships August 10-14 in Michigan City, Ind. and Indianapolis. The tour will be comprised of more than 115 events in 39 states.



"Of the hundreds of meetings that take place during the year, we really look forward to this one," said Dan Acheson, DCI Executive Director and CEO. "Bringing together the entire events team is a rite of spring, and signals the start of another season of exciting performances from the outstanding ensembles of Marching Music's Major League. The excitement for the start of the tour seems to build as we walk through each event, and this dedicated team of professionals is committed to making sure that the fans, corps members and everyone involved with our 2010 tour has a great experience."
