I currently live in Russellville, Ark. This picture is of my boyfriend, Michael Brence, at the Breckenridge Village United Artists theater in Little Rock, Ark. He was proudly wearing his corps jacket. I am an avid Phantom Regiment fan and was sporting a Regiment shirt, but I was behind the camera. We ran into some friends at the theater including one who went to high school with Michael and marched as a member of the 2004 Cavaliers, Brad Bunch. He, too was wearing his corps jacket. I was anxiously awaiting any Phantom Regiment show to make the Countdown, but I secretly hoped for 2003 or 2006! Unfortunately for Brad, his show did not make the Countdown. Michael was just there to cheer on his Scouts!

A year ago we organized a reunion for our alums of the Windsor Guardsmen, a junior drum and bugle corps active from 1966 to 1978. Our pinnacle year was in 1976 when we won the Great Lakes Drum Corps Association competition. The reunion brought back friendships and memories so we decided to stay in touch on our Web site. When we heard about the Classic Countdown, we decided to take a road trip to Walled Lake, Mich. We had so much fun seeing familiar drum corps like Phantom Regiment, Madison Scouts, Santa Clara Vanguard and the Bridgemen. Most of us have not seen a show in more than 30 years, but that night we cheered as if it were a live show. It was so much fun that we are now planning another road trip to a summer Drum Corps International event. Thank you for rekindling the hype. Here are two pictures taken that night. Back row left to right: Dan Lunardi (soprano), Jo-Dee Brown (guard), Phil Merlo (quints), Beth Martin (guard), Ward Meunier (snare), Front left to right: Julian Lunardi (soprano), Joe Aquilina (soprano). The second Photo is of the Windsor Guardsmen Alunmi Committe: Phil, Julian and Dan. Thank you for the great time.

These photos were from the 2007 Classic Countdown. A few of us decided to meet and catch up before our next camp and enjoy a little drum corps excitement before the season kicked off. The shows were very entertaining and very enjoyable. While we were there we saw and met some age-out drum corps members and alumni from the Academy, Blue Devils, Santa Clara Vanguard, Bridgemen, and Kingsmen, along with members from Blue Devils and Santa Clara Vanguard. It was cool and different to see everyone enjoy something together. It was a great experience and we can't wait until next year.
