The Phantom Regiment brass and percussion sections met this past weekend in sub-zero temperatures in Rockford, Ill. More than 120 musicians converged at Keith County Day School for the third of six rehearsal camps this winter/spring season.

The temperatures didn't freeze the spirit of the members nor the staff, but it did lead to some interesting issues. For instance, moving the equipment truck proved difficult for Bill Riebock (former director and currently special advisor to the director and transportation consultant) as the trailer was frozen to the pavement. Unlocking the padlocks proved difficult as well. The members of the front ensemble unloaded the truck in record time in order to get out of the minus 23 degree temperatures Friday night.
