Drum Corps International held a brunch for the Friends of DCI today at the Church Street Station in Orlando. Drum Corps fans from all over gathered to dine and reminice about their years with corps and on the road. Wayne Karge has been with the activity since day one - 41 seasons all together. He has attended every Friends of DCI brunch. "I enjoy getting together with good people and hanging out with friends. Running into people that we see year after year. It's just a big party!" Karge said. "I'm absolutly loving it. I love the competition. I love the shows. This summer has just been a great summer for drum corps!" Karge said. He is a former member of the Cavaliers. "There are even corps that didn't make Semifinals that are really good drum corps! That's what I come for- to see the shows!" He feels that drum corps has become especially entertaining over the last few years. "For the most part the corps are picking music that is exciting and that people can relate to. So many shows are just spectacular these days! Fans can really enjoy it!" he said. "I don't dislike Orlando! As hot as it is- atleast you know how to pack! It's going to be hot and wet!" he said. Jim Murphy has been a friend of DCI for about 10 years. He enjoys seeing friends and aquaintances each year. "If you havn't had a chance to reconnet with them on the field you can see them here," Murphy said. The Santa Clara Vanguard fan, like all other fans tonight, hopes to keep dry while watching the Finals competition.
