The drum corps community held its collective breath Friday morning as word spread about an accident involving a Glassmen volunteer bus. The incident, which occurred on Interstate 80 outside of Chicago, resulted in one of the corps' bus drivers being taken to the hospital with injuries to his ribs and knee. He has been released by the hospital at this time and will recover at home. Three volunteers were taken to the hospital as a precaution. All Glassmen members that day were transported safely to their housing site. In a post on the Glassmen Web site, Executive Director Brian Hickman thanked friends and colleagues within the drum corps activity for their support during a very tough day for the corps. As the Glassmen left the stadium, Friday evening, following their performance at the DCI Central Illinois event in Normal, Ill., the Colts were waiting for corps members to play a special rendition of their corps theme song.
