Gary Goins, who marched snare with the Velvet Knights in 1990 and 1992, sent in this one. "Having seen the recent events in the South, it's hard to imagine what they're going through. It reminded me of this picture. I believe it was early August in Mississippi at the Jacksonville regional. It was one of those early morning semifinals performances and the sun just started peeking over the judges box. It was probably 100 degrees with 120 degrees of humidity. Our staff thought it would be a good idea to give us matching sunglasses for the performance. It might as well have been a bucket of ice water. I don't think we ever used them again, but for that one performance it was all we needed." Thanks Gary!
