Chris Hestin will join the Glassmen as the new percussion arranger and caption head for the 2003 season. Hestin is not a new face to the Glassmen -- he had previously worked for the corps as a percussion instructor during the 1999 season."We are happy to have Chris back with the corps again," said Brian Hickman, executive director of the Glassmen. "He was an excellent member of our staff at an instructional level in the past, and we look forward to exploring the possibilities with him in this new position."Hestin's background extends not only into the drum corps arena, but also extensive experience in percussion composing, arranging and instructing for the Indiana University of Pennsylvania Marching Band over the last decade. Hestin has also refined his teaching skills as the percussion specialist and coordinator for the Kiski Area School District in Vandergrift, Penn. He has also been an adjudicator for the Mid-East Judges Association in the Dayton, Ohio, area. Hestin completed his teaching certification as well as multiple degrees (B.A. in Music Composition, Education, and Percussion, and a B.F. in Finance) at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. "I'm very excited at this opportunity to work with the Glassmen again," Hestin said, "and I am looking forward to continuing the forward momentum that the corps has generated over the past couple years."
