Last week, eight energetic drum lines faced off at the Indiana Convention Center in downtown Indianapolis for the second annual DrumLine Battle hosted in conjunction with the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC).
After a number of fierce rounds of head-to-head competition in the bracket-style tournament the University of Cincinnati drum line was named the Collegiate Division Champion and Ben Davis High School earned the title of High School Division Champion and Grand Champion.
“It’s really cool to show off what you’ve got [especially] to colleges and to show them what [we’re able to] do as a high schoolers,” Ben Davis performer Kate Holsapple said.
