17-year-old band member Stephen Dominguez was surprised by the Make-A-Wish Foundation on Friday.
Since he was very young, 17-year-old Del Valle (Texas) High School student Stephen Dominguez has battled a muscle disorder that for the last year and half he has been undergoing chemotherapy to treat. When the Make-A-Wish Foundation approached Dominguez several months ago, rather than request a vacation to an exotic locale or to meet a celebrity, he selflessly asked for the organization to help provide new equipment for his high school drum line. "They are my brothers and my sisters and there's nothing I wouldn't do for them," Dominguez said about his fellow band members during an interview with El Paso ABC affiliate KVIA. "They were the first thing that came to mind when I was told I could do Make-A-Wish." For months, Dominguez's parents kept the secret that thanks to contributions from Dynasty USA and Guitar Center that his wish would be granted. He was surprised and honored during a special halftime presentation at his high school's football game Friday.
