Due to the extreme heat expected in the northern part of Indiana for the next few days, for the safety of the spectators and the performers, Drum Corps International will delay the start of the DCI Central Indiana event scheduled for Friday, June 29 in Muncie by an hour. The event will now begin at 8 p.m. (ET). "By delaying the start, we're anticipating that we'll be able to escape some of the heat as the sun goes down, keeping the welfare and safety of our corps members in mind while also ensuring that spectators will be able to enjoy their outstanding performances in greater comfort," DCI Director of Events Susan Kuehnhold said. The National Weather Service issued an Excessive Heat Warning, which is in effect until 8 p.m. Friday. The revised schedule for DCI Central Indiana is as follows: 3:00 p.m. — Box office opens 6:30 p.m. — Gates open 8:00 p.m. — Troopers 8:17 p.m. — Glassmen 8:34 p.m. — Spirit of Atlanta 8:51 p.m. — Blue Stars 9:08 p.m. — Madison Scouts 9:25 p.m. — Carolina Crown 9:42 p.m. — The Cavaliers 9:59 p.m. — Encore performance 10:10 p.m. — Awards ceremony Times subject to change.
