Day two of the Drum Corps International World Championships ended with the crowning of the 2013 Open Class Champion at Ames Field in Michigan City, Ind., Tuesday, Aug. 6. Winning their first title since 2008, the Vanguard Cadets captured the gold with a score of 96.15 less than a half a point ahead of their fellow West Coast rival, Blue Devils B. All 14 Open Class corps that performed on Monday and Tuesday in Michigan City will perform and compete again beginning Thursday, Aug. 8 as World Championship action gets underway at downtown Indianapolis' Lucas Oil Stadium.
