Oregon Crusaders celebrate their World
Championship win Tuesday.
Day two of the Drum Corps International World Championships ended with the crowning of the 2012 Open Class Champion at Ames Field in Michigan City, Ind., Tuesday, Aug. 7. Taking the gold medal with a score of 95.25 were the Oregon Crusaders, scoring 1.4 points above their Pacific rival Blue Devils B. This is Oregon's second Championship win since the corps' founding in 1999, last earning the title in 2004. All 14 Open Class corps that performed on Monday and Tuesday in Michigan City will perform and compete again beginning Thursday, Aug. 9 as World Championship action gets underway at downtown Indianapolis' Lucas Oil Stadium.
