The tourism cooperative of Lake Oconee and Greene County, Ga., announced that it will be the presenting sponsor for the 2009 Drum Corps International Southeastern Championship at the Atlanta Georgia Dome on Saturday, July 25. Since 2006, the Georgia Dome has been home to this annual event that will feature all 22 of DCI's World Class corps.

With access to Lake Oconee, Greene County serves as a premier golf and lake resort destination attracting travelers from across the nation including those in the metro and surrounding areas of Atlanta.

"People who enjoy the spirit of Drum Corps International and all of the music enthusiasts this competition brings together are the type of people who appreciate our offerings," said Bill Houghton, co-chairman of the Greene County Tourism Committee. "Lake Oconee is one of the major destinations in the region, and we are very proud to partner with one of DCI's major destinations – the DCI Atlanta Southeastern Championship."
