For the first time, the West Coast drum corps fans are experiencing the corps at their peak. In today's Field Pass, Dan Potter has a California-style poolside chat with Golden State drum corps icon, Frank Dorritie. Dorritie has arranged for and instructed several corps including the Blue Devils, Santa Clara Vanguard and the Cadets. His audio engineering has garnered him 9 Grammy nominations and 2 Grammys, and he has performed with and engineered for many artists including Billy Cobham, Maynard Ferguson and Wynton Marsalis. On Friday, August 3rd, Dorritie produced a state of the art surround-sound recording of the Blue Devils for the corps' 2007 DVD.
