2004 Individual and Ensemble entry form Fill out the above entry form, have your corps director sign it and send it in to Drum Corps International, 470 S. Irmen, Addison, IL 60101. 2004 Individual and Ensemble Rules Drum Corps International's Individual & Ensemble contest is a unique event for fans and participants. Every day throughout the summer season, these performers work as part of a team of as many as 135 members. There may be solos or features in their programs, but nothing like the showcase they put on at Individual & Ensemble. Amidst their strenuous schedule of long rehearsals, shows, and nightly bus rides, these extremely talented participants find time during any minute of spare time they may have to learn and perfect the performances you will see at Individual & Ensemble. We invite you to stop and enjoy as many Individual & Ensemble performances as possible on Wednesday, August 4 at the Adam's Mark Hotel in downtown Denver. The Individual & Ensemble competition is again sponsored this year by S.O.M.E. (Sponsors of Musical Enrichment). S.O.M.E. was established in 1978 as a non-profit corporation dedicated to serving the citizenry of the local San Joaquin County, California. The organization's objectives are to advise and assist youth activities designed and intended for the promotion of good citizenship, to foster and work with youth groups in such activities as drum corps, musical bands, instruction and other educational and recreational activities; and to promote goodwill between S.O.M.E. and the community. S.O.M.E. also provides deserving students of the musical and performing arts with financial scholarships for career advancement in the performing arts. S.O.M.E. also sponsors the Moonlight Classic, a contest which will be held for the 25th time this year on June 19 in Stockton, Calif. Rick Caccam, president of S.O.M.E., explained why S.O.M.E. remains such a vital partner with DCI: "Being a tour event partner is a rewarding experience. By hosting a show, we are able to continue bringing this moving musical performing arts program into our community. This strengthens our local music programs and brings a positive vision of today's youth," Caccam said. Made up of mostly drum corps alumni, S.O.M.E. is celebrating its 14th season of sponsoring the Drum Corps International Individual and Ensemble Competitions.
