Release by Sonia Ramirez, Revolution public relations manager Peter Jones has returned to Revolution as visual caption head in 2006. He will also act as visual designer. Jones began his marching career with the Ambassadors from New Market, Ontario, in 1978. He marched his last five years with Dutch Boy. He played eight years in the drum line, three years on baritone, and one year as drum major. After aging out in 1989, he joined the visual staff of Dutch Boy and taught for four years. In 1992, Jones began writing drill for several Ontario drum corps and winter guards. From 1994 to 1998, Peter worked with and wrote drill for more than 20 bands in the United States, including Avon High School from Indiana, Westerville North High School from Ohio, Wheaters Indoor Drumline from Illinois, and Marshall University from West Virginia. He is also proud to have worked with T.I.M.E. Winter Guard and Spirit Percussion Ensemble, both from Ontario. In 1995, Jones joined the visual staff of the Bluecoats and became the visual caption head in 1996 and drill writer in 1997-1998. He recently wrote drill for the Kiwanis Kavaliers from 2001-2003. In 2004, Jones graduated from the University of Toronto with a degree in
music education and is currently in his second year as the percussion director at Cameron High School in Cameron, Texas. He is also the percussion instructor at Temple College and plays in the percussion section with the Temple Symphony Orchestra in central Texas. His responsibilities with Revolution include developing and implementing marching style and technique, plus collaborating with the whole design team in creating the 2006 show. "I am thrilled to be back with Revolution and look forward to working with the staff and membership," said Jones.
