The Quantum Marching Project is a collaborative effort between Jupiter brass, Mapex drums and Majestic percussion brands to offer a full series of marching and pit instruments. By joining the strengths of the three brands and developing the instruments simultaneously, Quantum will represent a complete line of the highest quality instruments available.

This ensemble approach has also been applied to the development efforts at the brand level. "We started with wish lists gathered from our own experience and from interviewing the leading instructors and caption heads," said Ed Gobbel, product manager for Jupiter, "At the top of each list was the idea of a unified ensemble voicing within each section - that became our objective."

Having top designers and consultants involved with instrument design has been important in the development of the Jupiter, Mapex and Majestic Quantum models.

"Our focus is on creating a full series of models that can perform at the highest level," said Chris Hankes, Product manager for the Mapex marching battery and Majestic field percussion. "We've had a lot of enthusiastic support from those who share our goal and who have been willing to challenge traditional thinking along with us to achieve it."

"One of the best ways to prove ourselves is by putting these instruments into the hands of the top field performers in the world," said Tabor Stamper, VP of sales and business development for Jupiter, "We're encouraged by the fact that we have already taken an advance order from the largest university in the U.S. after testing the prototypes and anticipate several high-ranking DCI corps to be performing on these new instruments for the 2008 season."

Spearheaded by Jupiter Band Instruments, Inc., the Quantum instrument series will be officially introduced in January of 2008.
