Drum corps fans will have three more exciting opportunities to learn just what it takes to be a part of Marching Music’s Major League. Drum Corps International’s Live Learning Event series will continue this week with events in Hattiesburg, Miss., Gadsden, Ala., and Murfeesboro, Tenn. With a ticket to the following evening’s events, you can come a few hours early to get an inside look at the experience of rehearsing and marching as a member of a World Class drum corps. Discover tricks of the trade to bring home with you while learning from corps members and staff in all sections to see how they produce the excellent performances you see on the field. Orlando high school clarinet player Yadi Sanchez, who attended a Live Learning Event hosted by Carolina Crown in Orlando on July 11, said the event showed her what it takes to perform at the level of Marching Music’s Major League. Sanchez said she hopes to take what she learned and apply it within her own marching band. “Everything they do, we can take it back to our school,” she said. Featuring two or more hours of interactive, on-the-field learning experience from the best of the best in marching music, these events are not to be missed.
