From a Teal Sound press release: Louis Lugo will serve as Teal Sound's brass caption supervisor for the 2006 season.

Lugo's drum corps experience includes stints with the Spirit of Atlanta, Spirit of JSU and the Blue Devils. As a marching member, his achievements include being the 2001 DCI Individual and Ensemble baritone champion, as well as winning the mixed ensemble caption in 2002. He has taught as a music instructor for several band programs including Durant H.S. (Fla.), Carrollton H.S. (Ga..), and Kennesaw Mountain H.S. (Ga.).

In his first year of teaching junior corps, Lugo was the brass caption head for the 2004 Court of Honor and led the horn line to an undefeated season in brass. In 2005, Louie joined the Teal Sound family and led the horn line to a third-place finish in Division II brass. Lugo is from West Palm Beach, Fla. He received his bachelor of arts in music education from Jacksonville State University. Currently, he is a graduate teaching assistant under Dr.John Drew, working on a master's degree in trombone performance at Florida State University.
