From a joint Madison Scouts and Capital Sound press release: For the first time since the 2002 season, the Madison Scouts and Capital Sound are reviving their annual "open house season preview," which will take place on Sunday, April 29 following the conclusion of both corps' weekend rehearsal camps.
Long a tradition in the local drum corps scene, the event is being revived as a way to energize the drum corps community and to rekindle a relationship between the two groups. "I remember how great the open house was during my years with the Scouts," said Madison Scouts Executive Director, Jeff Spanos. "Bringing this tradition back will be wonderful for the community, our fans, supporters and alumni. We want to continue the energy of our alumni reunion project created last August, and rekindle the spark between our two Madison-based drum corps." More information about the performances is available on both corps' Web sites, www.madisonscouts.org and www.capsound.org.
