The Madison Scouts drum line is featured in a recent segment by NBC 15 in Madison, Wis. Working with the local children from the Boys & Girls Club of Dane County, Madison Scouts alum Joey Banks, brought his percussion group, the Black Star Line, to participate in the corps' February rehearsal at Madison Country Day School in Waunakee, Wis. "Music education is disappearing from our schools," said Madison Scouts development director Jeff Spanos in a post on the corps' Web site. "Joey has been developing a program here in the Madison area that is creating a new opportunity for kids to connect and learn through music. I am excited to involve the Madison Scouts and provide these kids an opportunity to see where music can take them." Read more at MadisonScouts.org.
