In a heated competition Thursday night in Columbus Ohio, the Troopers (69.350) surpassed the Madison Scouts (67.700) for sixth and seventh place respectively. The last time the Troopers placed ahead of the Madison Scouts in a Drum Corps International competition was more than 30 years ago at the 1973 World Championship Finals. The Troopers (86.150) took second place to Madison's (83.550) fourth place finish at that event.
