Here is a photo of Josh Forbord and me at the 2007 DCI World Championship "age-out" ceremony. Josh marched as a contra player for the Scouts, and I marched as a trumpet player for Phantom Regiment. Josh and I sit next to each other in the Minnesota State University wind ensemble. We were both first-year "age-outs" of our corps, but we didn't stop our marching careers that weekend. Josh filled an open spot with the all-age Govenaires from St. Peter, Minn., and I for Chops, Inc., another all-age corps from Minneapolis for the DCA Championships. We'll both be back with those DCA corps next year.
