From a Capital Regiment press release: Gifford Howarth, renowned marimbist and clinician, will be working with Capital Regiment's front ensemble at the corps' next camp. The camp will be held at Walnut Ridge High School in Columbus, Ohio, from December 10-12.

Howarth received his bachelors of music degree from Ithaca College and his masters in percussion performance from Kent State University. He currently is working on a doctorate at Michigan State University. He is an adjunct professor/artist in residence at Penn State University in State College, Pa. ^Howarth is a very active recitalist, clinician and master class teacher focusing on mallet percussion. He has worked with the front ensembles of both Cadets and the Brigadiers. He has also written for numerous indoor percussion groups and has adjudicated for WGI as well as other indoor percussion circuits. Kate Tice, Capital Regiment's pit arranger and instructor, is excited about Howarth's upcoming visit. "Giff is such a talented musician and teacher. It will be an exceptional weekend for our mallet players.
