J. Birney Crum Stadium
Two-day ticket packages to the 2012 DCI Eastern Classic went on sale exclusively to previous purchasers last Thursday, Oct. 6, and in the process set a first-day sales record for the event. The Eastern Classic is one of the longest standing and traditionally most popular events on the annual Drum Corps International Tour. The event has been held at J. Birney Crum Stadium for more than 30 years, and it will take place on Friday, Aug. 3 and Saturday, Aug. 4 in 2012. "In less than 12 hours after the 2012 tickets were placed on sale last Thursday, we saw an incredible 21 percent increase in the number of two-day packages sold over our previous record set two years ago," said DCI Ticketing Manager Allison Focht. Two-day ticket packages for the 2012 Eastern Classic will go on sale to the general public this Thursday, Oct. 13 at 9 a.m. ET. "There are still great seats available in both the upper deck and premium sections of Allentown's historic J. Birney Crum Stadium, but these seats are in high demand and will likely be snatched up quickly," said Focht. "When tickets are released to the general public the morning of Oct. 13, our fans are encouraged to order early to help ensure they get the seats they want." 2012 two-day packages range in price from $60 to $70, which guarantees the same seats for both the Friday and Saturday evening competitions. Tickets can be ordered from the DCI Box Office by phone (317.275.1212) or online at DCI.org/tickets. The annual DCI Eastern Classic features the performances of all of DCI's World Class corps just days before they head to Indianapolis for the climax of the summer season at the Drum Corps International World Championships in Indianapolis. Individual-night tickets for the Eastern Classic will go on sale later this winter. Visit DCI.org/tickets for additional event information.
