From a Revolution press release: Tim Overturf has returned as percussion caption head, staff coordinator and percussion arranger for the Revolution. He served in that role in 2005. He began his marching percussion career as a member of the Santa Clara Vanguard Cadets in 1996. Overturf marched another year with the Vanguard Cadets in 1998 after marching with the Blue Knights in 1997. His last year of drum corps was in 1999 with the Santa Clara Vanguard, when that corps tied for the DCI World Championship. He is the co-founder of Legends Brass and Percussion Ensemble, which began in the winter of 2001 through Portage Central High in Portage, Mich. Overturf was the percussion caption head and percussion arranger for the Dimensions from Grand Rapids, Mich., in 2003. He was also the caption head and arranger for the Marion Cadets from Marion, Ohio, in 2004. He and his wife Laura reside in San Antonio, where he is the percussion director for Floresville Independent School District where he handles all percussion studies 6th through 12th grade. He has a signature snare stick with Regal Tip Drumsticks. Overturf is also a product design consultant for J.D. Calato manufacturing company and proud educational endorser of Regal Tip Drumsticks, Remo Drumheads, TreeWorks Chimes and Dynasty USA. Overturf is extremely excited about returning in 2006. "The support that was given to us by all of our great sponsors and great percussion staff members is really what drove us to succeed in 2005," said Overturf. "Working with all of these folks once again is exciting for me because with their help, 2006 will prove to be yet another year of success."
