Next week, individuals and ensembles will have the chance to show off their talents in Indianapolis, during the DCI Performers Showcase presented by System Blue.

The event will take place on Wednesday, August 5, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET. Free and open to the public, the bulk of the action will take place on Georgia Street in the heart of downtown Indy.

Anticipated to be one of the best attended Performers Showcases in recent history, more than 160 entries made up of more than 400 performers will be on the schedule.

“This event is kind of a hidden gem that many fans may not have experienced, and they really should,” Performers Showcase event manager Christina Mavroudis said. There's so much creativity, variety and excitement during the competition that you can only fully experience it while you’re there.”

Mavroudis says that some of the performances she’s most looking forward to include a Madison Scouts snare duet, entries from first-year Open Class corps River City Rhythm, a visual duel between the Madison Scouts and Blue Knights, and the Racine Scouts’ popular dance ensemble called “Ginger Snap.”

The inclusion of vocal and woodwind categories offers corps members the opportunity to display their talents on instruments that are not typically used as part of DCI competitions, and the event offers audience members the opportunity to get up close and personal with the performers.

“It’s another great way to see the faces of these very talented performers beyond the football field and to experience their creativity,” Mavroudis said.

Drum corps fans can also look forward to seeing Performers Showcase participants from DCI’s DrumLine Battle and SoundSport programs, as well as a number of international groups who will perform in exhibition throughout the day.
