From a Phantom Regiment press release: Set on the wooded Rockford College Campus, the Phantom Regiment Drum Major Camp and Snare Drum Camps are still accepting registrants. Visit regiment.org for registration packets. Phantom Regiment's second annual Snare Drum Camp is sponsored by Pearl Drums and Innovative Percussion, and features Paul Rennick of North Texas, "Blast!" and Phantom Regiment fame along with legendary rudimental drum educator Marty Hurley. Campers will study with Rennick and Hurley and their team of clinicians, including 1998 DCI solo snare champion (and former Regiment center snare) Jeff Hassan and former North Texas and Phantom Regiment center snare Jeremy Noyes. They'll also spend time with the 2005 Phantom Regiment drum line as they work on improving skills as both individual and section snare drummers. Regiment's third annual Drum Major Camp, sponsored by Stanbury Uniforms, features former Phantom Regiment conductor and current University of Akron professor Galen Karriker and Michigan State's John T. Madden, along with several recent award-winning Phantom Regiment conductors. Students will also spend time with the Phantom Regiment staff and learn the ropes of symphonic conducting from a full-time professional symphony conductor. The camp's focus is on conducting, leadership, score study and musicianship. Phantom Regiment conductors have earned more DCI Top Drum Major awards than any corps in history.
